Let’s face it — prospecting can be brutal, especially if you’re lacking resources to assist in flipping over rocks to see what’s underneath.
Using Pulse Research’s national survey data on consumer spending, their complimentary platform can be a very effective arrow in your quiver when prospecting and cold-calling businesses.
THERE ARE A LOT OF PROSPECTS AVAILABLE
Pulse provides access to information and tactics for 25 top-performing business categories, including restaurants, automotive, financial services, education, health and medical, etc. The rankings are by “most sold” according to Metro Creative, a company that Pulse partners within a few areas to increase the platform’s value.
PULSE’S SURVEY DATA IS THE LIFE-BLOOD OF THE PLATFORM
At its core, Pulse Research is a media market research company known in the media industry for their consumer spending surveys.
They hang their hat on asking consumers questions that businesses have always wanted to ask, but never would. And bonus points if a media company promotes the survey in their market because Pulse can parse out data specific to that market within the platform, which really is key because this local data comes in handy when you’re ready to make a cold call to a business.
PROSPECTING
The prospecting tool allows for a lot of filtering in functionality. The map allows for zooming in and out, clicking on the pins to get more information about a specific business, etc. Pretty straightforward. It also allows you to “connect” with a prospect.
Connecting pulls up some teaser text to consider using during cold calling. It also allows you to mark that prospect as “engaged”, so you can keep track of who’s in your prospect pipeline, and where they stand.
METRO CREATIVE IS ALSO COMPLIMENTARY…THROUGH THE END OF 2021
Remember that partnership that Pulse struck up with Metro Creative? Here’s another place where you can benefit. Metro Creative will give you free access through the end of the year.
Why is this valuable?
Because advertising salespeople can use their quick spec-ad creating benefits on the fly — in front a customer — to build up interest and engagement. It’s a super valuable tool if you use it correctly.
YEP, THERE ARE MULTIPLE LEVELS OF REPORTING
Whether you’re a salesperson, sales lead, or sales director, there are multiple levels of easy-access reporting. You can filter by:
time frame
activity vs. revenue
volume by engagement, creation date, sale date, and more
It also breaks down tallies by salesperson or account. It offers a level of accountability for all involved to make sure they’re really using the platform to its total ability.
We use this platform at MDDC Ad Services, and it works well for us. The mobile version, while not an app, pairs well on a mobile device (if you have decent internet or wifi available).
